The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the arrest of media personality Serwaa Amihere stating that the reports are false.
In a brief statement on Tuesday, 15 October, the police urged the public to disregard the footage circulating on social media, clarifying that it is not real but rather a still from a music video.
According to sources, the viral video and image spreading on social media platforms are actually scenes from a music video by gospel musician Piesie Esther.

“The Ghana Police Service has not arrested Serwaa Amihere. Our investigation indicates that the picture circulating online is from a music video,” the police statement said.
“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard this misinformation and disinformation.”
The police further cautioned the public against the spread of false information, stressing the importance of verifying the accuracy of such information before sharing it.
Serwaa Amihere has not yet commented on the incident.
