Beyond Kontrol rapper Medikal has said that the NPP, which is currently in power, arrested him and put him in jail for no good reason.
According to the rapper, when his lawyers tried to talk to superiors, all they heard was “it’s an order from above.”
Medikal was arrested in September 2021 for flaunting a gun in a video that was shared on social media. After that, he was charged with illegally showing guns and ammo.
When Medikal first went to court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge, but the court wouldn’t let him out on bail.
The rapper from “Omo Ada” was sent back to police prison for five days. When he went back to court on October 26, the judge let him out on bail for Ghc100,000.
In a post on X he wrote, “NPP arrested me for no tangible reason, NPP put me in cells, locked me up in jail(Ankaful Maximum security prison) all in the name of power. My lawyers tried to communicate with superiors and all they got in response was ‘it’s an order from above’ Let it be known to the incoming president,His Excellency John Dramani Mahama that,I do not trust him but rather believe in him. Let this new change be exhibited drastically ! If not for anything, he should foresee the generation of Sharaf, ‘a good friend of mine (His Son) and the betterment of the youth in Ghana and beyond. Thank you”
