Ghanaian rapper Kofi Mole, known in private life as Edward Amoah, has issued a formal cease and desist notice through his legal team in response to defamatory claims made by Bongo Ideas, which are circulating online.
This notice was made public through a post on his social media platform, X, in which he tagged Ksheldonstudios, TV3Ghana, 1BongoIdeas, and GHoneTV.
The false allegations, which stem from a misrepresentation of a recent interview shared via TikTok, accuse the artist of drug abuse and related health issues—claims his team has described as “wholly untrue, baseless, and without lawful justification.”
According to the statement, the offending content not only misrepresents Kofi Mole’s words but also seeks to tarnish his reputation and credibility.
“These statements were made with the clear intent to injure the reputation of our client and expose him to public ridicule, contempt, and disrepute,” the legal team asserted.
They further highlighted the emotional and professional harm these claims have caused, including the loss of business opportunities and damage to the artist’s well-earned public image.
“As a result of these defamatory publication, our Client has suffered and continues to suffer, substantial emotional distress, loss of business opportunities and reputational harm within and beyond Ghana”, as stated in the notice.
They concluded with a list of instructions; “we demade as follows:
1. That you immediately cease and desist from making, publishing, sharing, or circulating any furthur false or defamatory statements concerning our Client;
