I Was Scared When I Released “Asylum” – Olivetheboy

Olivetheboy, a Ghanaian Afrobeat singer and songwriter, has expressed how terrified he was when he released one of his hits, “Asylum,” considering its content.

The young artiste made this remark on April 10, during a conversation on the “Big Convo” at PLUZZ89.9FM and 3Music TV.

He said he was scared because the majority of his admirers had contacted him to express their disinterest with the way he wrote and sung the song.

“I had calls from people who told me they do not like the way I am doing my music.” He goes on to state that he was not expecting the song to thrive like the way it did.

He did, however, want to clarify it that he is not a Nigerian and neither is he trying to sound like a Nigerian but he merely sounds like an Afrobeat artiste.

“I do not necessarily sound Nigerian. I sound like an Afrobeat artist,” he reveals.

He discussed a part of his musical career, revealing that he used to make his own beats before meeting Beatz Vampire and still does so on occasion, but he is not concerned with beat production this time around.

Meanwhile, Olivetheboy’s next EP, “Out of the Blue,” will be released on April 11, featuring Sarkodie, Veola, Mayorkun, Soundz, and Qing Madi.
