The High Court has upheld the Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify Bernard Mornah, the presidential candidate for the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Mornah had applied to challenge his disqualification by the electoral commission, but the court dismissed it on October 21, making it harder for the PNC as the December elections approach.
His application was based on allegations that the Electoral Commission wrongly cited irregularities in his nomination forms as the reason for his disqualification.
This sparked discussions about the fairness of the electoral process.

Mornah is not alone in facing disqualification; several other candidates have also been affected. Notable figures include Kofi Asamoah Siaw, the flagbearer for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), and Janet Nabla from the PNC.
Independent candidates Nana Stephens Adjepong and Paul Perkoh are also among those disqualified.
Other candidates on the disqualification list include Samuel Apea-Danquah, Desmond Abrefah, Dr. Samuel Sampong Ankrah, and Nii Amu Darko, adding to the challenges parties face as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
