Dumsor Is All You’re Known For – Akufo-Addo Jabs Mahama

President Akufo-Addo has once again taken a swipe at, John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying he left no tangible legacy for the people of Ghana to remember him for.

President Akufo-Addo indicated that former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor have achieved more for Ghanaians than John Mahama.

Engaging a community in the Northern Region as part of his ongoing tour, the President mentioned that Mr Mahama’s administration is only synonymous with Ghana’s severe power crisis, known as “dumsor.”

He stated that whenever Mahama’s name is brought up, it is primarily associated with the period of frequent power outages, which significantly impacted both businesses and households nationwide.

He further asked why Mahama is seeking to return to office after the difficulties his administration imposed on the nation.

According to him if given another chance, Mr Mahama would create more difficulties and setbacks for Ghana’s development.

President Akufo-Addo mentioned that Ghanaians will remember both Rawlings and Kufuor for their distinct contributions to the country’s development.

He contended that Mahama’s tenure was characterized by poor economic management and power instability, causing long-term harm to the economy.

President Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to vote against Mahama in the upcoming general elections, just as they did in 2016 and 2020.

He urged voters to take into account the future of the country and choose a leader who can spur its progress, rather than repeating past mistakes.

“When you mention Rawlings, District Assembly comes to mind, when you mention Kufuor, National Health Insurance Scheme comes to mind, when you mention Akufo-Addo, Free SHS comes to mind but when you mention John Mahama Dumsor comes to mind,” the President stated.
