Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, a forward from Ghana, has left FC Zurich and signed a two-year deal with FC Aarau, a club in Switzerland’s second division.
After three disappointing seasons with Zurich, during which he scored just twice in all competitions, the 24-year-old decided to leave the club.
In 2022, Barnieh was transferred from Hearts of Oak, a dominant club in Ghana, to the Swiss top division.
He played a total of 157 minutes in six appearances for Zurich in the 2024/2025 season.
The transfer to FC Aarau provides a new chance for the former Ghana U20 star to advance in his career.
