Head coach of Sudan Kwesi Appiah has expresed his determination to secure a victory for his side against Ghana in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
After a drawing goalless against Sudan in the first leg, Sudan is now poised to face Ghana on neutral ground, hosting them in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2025.
The team remains focused on maintaining thier strong record in the qualifiers despite playing away from home.
The 1970 AFCON champions remain unbeaten in their “home” matches for the 2025 campaign and intend to keep this streak alive.
Coach Appiah acknowledged how tough it was for his team to secure a 1-1 draw against the Black Stars in Ghana but remains confident in his squad’s determination to strive for a victory.
“It is not going to be easy, but Insha Allah, we are going to fight and make sure we get a victory for Sudan,” he said.
Ghana has a mixed history against Sudan, having won three and lost three of their last six away matches against them.
Their last meeting resulted in a narrow 1-0 loss for Ghana, with Sudanese forward Mohamed Abdel Raman netting a late winner.
