Celebrated Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has shared her frustration on the current state of the Ghana movie industry.
According to her, Ghana has a lot of talents that are getting wasted due to inadequate structures and a lack of a solid foundation.
She compared this to the thriving movie industry in Nigeria, where she said they treat their craft like a typical 9-5 job.
In a post sighted by PLUZZ89.9FM, she said she is now beginning to realize why her friends tell her she is wasting her talent being in Ghana as an actress.
A part of her post on Instagram reads, “Look there are lots and lots of talent wasting in Ghana year by year, trust me. I’m just here recommending people left right center, cos I KNOW what we have back in my country”
There have been several calls for reforming the movie industry, and as part of President Mahama’s plan for the creative arts sector, steps are being considered to revive the struggling movie industry.
