Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, recently criticized the NDC’s handling of the cedi during a speech in Nungua, Krowor.
He argued that the NDC mismanaged the cedi more severely than the NPP, even without facing global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic or the Russia-Ukraine war.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that during the NDC’s eight years in power, the cedi depreciated by 74%, whereas under the NPP, the depreciation was 72% despite significant global economic challenges.
He emphasized that this comparison demonstrates the NPP’s superior economic management.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia pointed out various sectors where he believes the NPP has outperformed the NDC, including job creation, infrastructure development, and digitalization.
He invited former President John Mahama to a debate to compare their records directly.
