Akua Donkor’s Running Mate Speaks On Her Death

Kwabena Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, the running mate to the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), flagbearer, Akua Donkor has commented on her death.

Roman Fada has revealed that Madam Akua Donkor has not been feeling well for the past few days.

He went on to say that, she was undergoing treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital. Yet her condition did not improve and was sent to the Ridge Hospital when she passed on Monday, October 28.

“She has not been well for the past few days so we sent her to the Nsawam Government Hospital on Saturday. But she was not getting better so on Sunday I was called and told she is being taken to the Ridge Hospital on Monday dawn around 1 am.

“So, yesterday in the afternoon, the family called and told me that she couldn’t make it,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Onua TV.

Discussing the next steps for the party ahead of the December 7 election, Roman Fada said “We are meeting this morning to see the next move. Her passing should make us conduct the elections peacefully.”

Akua Donkor ran for the presidency several times.

She placed third on the ballot paper for the 2024 presidential race.

The late GFP leader began her presidential aspirations when she was elected as the Assemblywoman for Herman. Her first attempt at the presidency came in 2012 when she applied to run as an independent candidate.
