George Agyei Frempong, the Assemblyman for the Oguaa electoral area in the New Juaben South municipality of the Eastern Region, tragically lost his life due to electrocution on Saturday afternoon.
The assemblyman believed to have been in his thirties succumbed to death while fixing a streetlight in his electoral area.
According to eyewitnesses, Agyei Frempong an untrained electrical technician, fell from the the electricity pole after he was severely shocked.
Some residents who witnessed the incident quickly took the assemblyman to the Eastern Regional Hospital, but he later died at the facility.
George Agyei Frempong, a well-known carpenter, was elected as the assembly member for the Oguaa electoral area in the most recent district assembly elections.
