Omane Boamah Questions EC’s Contract With YASARKO To Print Ballots

The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has expressed concerns over the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to contract YASARKO to print materials for the 2024 general elections.

“Eagle Eyes”, an initiative by the NDC to monitor the ballot printing process, has issues with YASARKO’s performance.

Dr Omane Boamah, mentioned his doubts in a Facebook post about the EC’s vetting process for YASARKO, alleging that the company has not been consistent in meeting their obligations, resulting in frustration among NDC agents tasked to monitor the process 24/7.

He highlighted that YASARKO’s frequent “excuses” cast doubt on the company’s competence and the validity of the contract award.

“Since printing commenced, YASARKO printing company has not been printing. Excuses upon excuses…

“Total waste of our resources as we keep deploying NDC Agents and Supervisors three times a day on a continuous and sustained 24-hour cycle,” he wrote.
