Latest FIFA Rankings: Ghana Drops To 73rd Place After Winless Streak In AFCON Qualifiers

The latest ranking by the international football governing body, FIFA, has seen Ghana drop three places following their winless streak in the October international window.

The Black Stars, once a powerhouse in football, moved to 73rd from 70th on the standings after their inability to defeat Sudan in their two encounters in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The senior national football team played out a goalless draw with Sudan in Accra before their 2-0 defeat to the Falcons of Jediane in Libya.

Ghana was in the 70th position on the global rankings, but have been dropped to 73rd on the log after the two games.

Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, and Northern Ireland are the countries to have moved above Ghana in the global rankings.

The Black Stars have also fallen two positions in the continental rankings but remain in 14th place in Africa.

In the CAF rankings, Morocco has climbed to the top spot, while Senegal has slipped to second. Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia round out the top five.
