A 16-year-old female student (Name withheld) in the General Arts department at Mpraeso Senior High School in the Eastern Region is reportedly a victim of rape by eight boys.
Five of the eight boys, who are also students at the school, have been apprehended and are being held at the Nkwatia Divisional Police Command, while the other three remain at large.
The incident, according to the headmaster, happened on Sunday, October 6, however, the school delayed reporting the face to the Police because he was not around.
He mentioned that the eight male students were dismissed by the disciplinary committee of the school, and reported the case to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for further investigation.

The mother of the female student, Madam Owusua, in an interview, revealed that her daughter called her complaining of illness and that she had to come to the school urgently.
She visited the school on Monday, October 14, and her daughter recounted her ordeal to her. In response, she quickly reported the incident to the Mpraeso Police Station, resulting in the arrest of the five male students.
According to her, her daughter’s condition has improved after being taken to the hospital, but she is calling on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the incident and seek justice for her daughter.
