Ghana Afro-fusion Lali X Lola, a group of artists and dancers, announced on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that they are willing to cut their trademark red hair.
This news release, issued on April 7, seeks to resolve the long-standing misunderstanding between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
“We’re Lali and Lola— twins, best friends, sisters in music and in life. We’ve shared everything from clothes to dreams, from stages to struggles. But there’s one thing that always sparks fire between us: Shatta vs Stonebwoy”, as stated in post they released.
The music twins admitted that it crushes their hearts that two of Ghana’s most renowned musicians do not perform on the same platform.
“Why must promoters and police avoid putting two legends on the same stage?” This is how they expressed their feelings and went on to question, “Can’t we all just get along?”
“We’re cutting off our signature red hair – our crown – our identity – not for fashion, but for peace, for unity, for Ghana Music.” Lali and Lola, sharing the reason behind their reasons for cutting their hair.
They also stated that they hope Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s collaboration will assist open doors for the next wave (new and rising singers) like themselves while also filling stadiums across continents.
“It’s time to stop the fight. Let’s, with one accord, struggle, tussle, and double the muscle to speed the hustle— for the sake of tomorrow.
Lali and Lola concluded their press presentation by emphasising that they do not intend to quarrel or argue with anyone, but hopes to see all Ghanaian musicians team up, specifically Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
