I Inspired Shatta Wale To Start Doing African Dancehall – Samini

In the midst of conversations concerning who pioneered African Dancehall and Afro-Dancehall, Samini has made another bold statement on his social media page.

According to Samini, he inspired Shatta Wale to start doing African Dancehall, and for the record, he has always represented the genre on all levels.

Samini went on to say that he directed and put out Stonebwoy’s first album, “Grade 1,” which was officially released in 2012.

Apparently, Samini’s decision to stay mute about these issues has been because of Stonebwoy, but sometimes, he feels the need to come out and defend it.

The “My Own” hitmaker stated that he would be lame to claim Afro-Dancehall since he saw and inspired it into being African Dancehall.

As said by him, he advised Stonebwoy to tone down the patois and fuse Ewe since he was more comfortable with that over the Twi.
