Special Prosecutor Declares Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta Wanted

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued warrants for Ken Ofori-Atta’s fugitive status.

According to today’s press conference by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, all signs indicate that Mr. Ofori-Atta has fled the country in an effort to evade investigations into allegations of corruption.

Agyebeng said that the former minister must comply with the continuing investigations and denied rumors that Ofori-Atta had departed the nation for medical treatment.

Additionally, he denied rumors that on Tuesday, February 11, OSP officers had raided Ofori-Atta’s home.

On the contrary, Agyebeng said that the ex-minister personally orchestrated the raid to deceive the public and cast doubt on the OSP’s findings.

As the OSP steps up its attempts to prosecute public officials for suspected financial misdeeds, this new revelation signifies a major step forward in the battle against corruption.
